Yesterday was one heck of a day for Anthropic as they announced their newest model, Claude 3.7 Sonnet, and the benchmarks, well it’s safe to say they blew some minds. Like it’s predecessor, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, 3.7 Sonnet excels at coding tasks, but excels probably isn’t a strong enough word, it absolutely changed the game when it comes to what LLMs can do on the coding-front. Seriously, just look at this 🤯

So yeah…for a while there Anthropic, OpenAI, and DeepSeek were neck and neck, until yesterday, now Anthropic is in the lead, and by a wide margin. With this new horsepower Anthropic made a move that I don’t think many were expecting, or at least I sure wasn’t — they released a new standalone product, Claude Code built around it.

Here’s the TL;DR on Claude Code:

Claude Code is an agentic coding tool that lives in your terminal, understands your codebase, and helps you code faster through natural language commands. By integrating directly with your development environment, Claude Code streamlines your workflow without requiring additional servers or complex setup. (Source — Anthropic Docs)
